Afghanistan faces one of the world's most severe humanitarian crises. After decades of conflict and recent political changes, millions struggle to access basic services. We support both communities inside Afghanistan and returning refugees from Pakistan with emergency aid, healthcare, and reintegration support.

The Situation

Afghanistan is experiencing a catastrophic humanitarian crisis with widespread food insecurity, collapsed healthcare systems, and limited access to education, particularly for girls. Economic collapse has left millions without income, and harsh winters compound the suffering. Additionally, hundreds of thousands of Afghan refugees are returning from Pakistan, facing immense challenges as they try to rebuild their lives in a country with limited resources and opportunities.

Coming Home After 30 Years

Rashid and his family fled to Pakistan in the 1990s and spent three decades in refugee camps. When they were forced to return to Afghanistan, they had nothing - no home, no land, no livelihood. Our refugee relocation team met them at the border, providing immediate emergency supplies, temporary shelter, and food assistance. Over the following months, we helped Rashid find work, enrolled his children in school, and connected the family with community support networks. Today, while challenges remain, Rashid's family is rebuilding their life in their homeland.

"We left Afghanistan with nothing, and we returned with nothing. But this support gave us hope and a chance to start again in our own country."
